Sharing this message below regarding the July 3rd Fireworks. There will be no road closure and no passes will be required this year. Thanks!
Hello Barrett, I’m Sgt. Clem Rodriguez with the Fruita Police Department. I was given your information as the point of contact for the Kingsview HOA. I was hoping you could assist with disseminating information on some changes regarding our annual 3rd of July fireworks. In years past, the City of Fruita has assisted in closing Kingsview Rd and limiting access to motorists. This was in part due to the proximity of the fireworks launch site and to assist fire operations.
In 2023, Fire operations expressed concerns for fire danger at the Snooks Bottom launch site and the launch site was relocated to the Fruita State Park. From a safety / operational standpoint it was decided the Fruita State Park would be the launch site for future events. ( * It should be noted that Snooks Bottom will still serve as one of the staging areas for fire and brush trucks.)
With the relocation of the fireworks launch site, we can no longer warrant the closing of Kingsview Rd. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience during this transitional period !

970-858-3008The fireworks launch site is being moved to James M. Robb State Park for July 3, 2023. Kingsview subdivision will not have restricted access this year for fireworks and passes will not be needed for residents’ visitors. There will not be security present at the entrance to Kingsview and 340 monitoring entrance to the neighborhood. Snooks Bottom will remain closed for the full day of July 3 to allow for firefighting access.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
