Ashley grew up in the Grand Valley, where she graduated from Central High School. She went on to attend Colorado Mesa University to pursue a double major in accounting and biology. Along the way she met her husband of 10 years. In 2012 they made the move to Anchorage, Alaska. In 2015 they welcomed their first child, Freyja Camilla-Irene Rosencrans.
