Community Spotlight: Fruita Fall Festival
Posted: September 21, 2021 by Inactive Paige Herron
Downtown Fruita is known for its quiet streets and cozy atmosphere, but on September 24th and 25th, the 106th Annual Fruita Fall Festival will transform this tiny town into a place of celebration.
After a year of lockdowns and social distancing, Fruita is going all out with it’s theme of: “There’s No Place Like Fruita” and guests can expect over 125 vendors, food trucks, special events, and live music that will feature two stages to accommodate the entire community.
The Outhouse races begin on Aspen Street at 5:30 pm on Friday, while “What the Fest” Brew Fest will be included in Friday night’s beer garden, which will begin again at 10:30 the following morning. Saturday will kick-off with a Farmer’s Market at 8:30am followed by a Cornhole Tournament at Reed Park at 11am. Meanwhile, the Saturday morning Downtown Parade will begin it’s route around Fruita’s Circle Park where it will make its way to Cherry Street.
Tickets for the BrewFest come with extra perks such as a commemorative mug, (2) 12oz pours, and beer sampling while the Beer Garden itself will be open to the public. Tickets can be purchased in advance on their website, or at the event itself.
The Fruita Area of Commerce is working with the City of Fruita and Mesa County Public Health to uphold the proper guidance and regulations for this event, so if you’re looking for something to do with your family that weekend, this is a great place to go.
