I was raised in Moab Utah with four brothers. My dad owned Pioneer Drilling Company and we spent lots of time in and around the Moab area prospecting for uranium.  Trips to Grand Junction were two hours away, but it was considered normal to come over for shopping, doctor appointments, picking up parts for the drill rig, or a good time.  I treasure a letter written to my dad and grandfather from Grand Junction in 1954 telling them their Geiger Counter was ready for pick-up.     Aft... read more
